NEED INSPIRATION TO KEEP YOUR STAFF MOTIVATED? DON’T CANCEL YOUR INCENTIVES JUST YET!

Here at DCM Event Management, we know that your incentive programs have been turned upside down due to COVID-19 and the restrictions on international travel. While you may think that your programs need to stop, we will be focusing our next few columns on how we can help you keep your employees and clients excited to reach their goals by featuring some of Canada’s different landscapes, experiences and cultures, perfect for rewarding your most valued assets.

The most eastern and oft forgotten about province, Newfoundland and Labrador has plenty of unique experiences to offer your top salespeople. The capital of St. John’s has a rich history just daring to be explored. There are many things to experience in this city and around the province that will make your incentive program a memorable one.

A Culinary Delight!

Newfoundland is famous for its seafood and local pints especially in the capital city of St. John’s. Restaurants flank every corner in the downtown core with top restaurants in the country being housed in the city. More than just fine dining, St. John’s is home to various breweries and distilleries that can be toured, and taste tested to accent the stay in the city. Eastern Newfoundland is much more than St. John’s with towns like Bonavista and its unique dining venues and coffee shops along the ocean. Along with culinary experiences, nature is all around with the Discovery Trail being a beautiful and popular hiking destination. A final stop not to miss is on the famous Fogo Island, which is home to small stores, galleries and restaurants. The island is home to the luxurious Fogo Island Inn, whose culinary specialty is wild forage and game. Similar to the other parts of the province, the island is filled to the brim with natural beauty and experiences to be explored.

Explore a UNESCO World Heritage Site right in our own backyard

On the western side of the island you will find Gros Morne National Park, consistently ranked as one of the most beautiful parks in Canada. The lodging for the trip is rustic with the option for log cabins in the area of the natural wonders of the park. With over 1,8002 km of natural beauty, it is impossible to explore all at once, from salmon rivers where while in season, the fish are so abundant, they can be reached for a touched, to hiking trails that can explored with at your own pace. An abundance of moose flanking the shores of the park can be seen during a fjord boat tour that exposes travelers to the massive fjords and contrast between ocean and land and a chance to see whales and icebergs, which can be elusive but with local help are just waiting to be discovered. When the night starts to creep in, small town local cuisine can be enjoyed with local beer to end the day off on the right note. Outfitters in the area can take travelers to renown fishing areas to experience the thrill of reward of catching cod or Atlantic salmon.

Do you have a small group of executives looking for a unique experience? Let DCM Event Management plan an exclusive fishing retreat that will be more than worth the hassle!  Travel by float plane to lodges specializing in Atlantic Salmon, Lake Trout, Brook Trout and Cod.
